Purogamana Kala Sahithya Sangam

Purogamana Kala Sahitya Sangham (Progressive Arts & Literary Organistaion) an Association for Art and Letters, also known as the PuKaSa , is an organization of artists, writers and art and literature enthusiasts based in Kerala. The association was formed on August 14 , 1981 , under the leadership of Malayalam poet Vyloppilli Sreedhara Menon . The origins of the PuKaSa can be traced back to the Deshabhimani Study Circle which existed in the 1970 s, and before that to the Kerala Jeevatsahitya Sangham which was initiated in 1937 by a few left-leaning Congressmen, led by E. M. S. Namboodiripad .

Honey Village Poomangalam

Five students of Poomangalam U.
P. School in Kannur have become
experts in beekeeping. They are
now on a mission to popularise
apiculture in their village through
demonstration sessions. Steps are
already on to start a beekeeping
unit in the school. The students
learned the techniques from
beekeepers in the Panniyur village
here. They prepared a project
report and presented it before
other students. The project was
prepared by K. Rajilal and Ajay
Moncy with the help of K.
Nidhinraj, T. Sujaya and E.R.
Rajitha. The report says that 75
per cent of honey consumed in the
village last year was produced
from outside.
The success of the
apiculture project being
implemented by the students of
Poomangalam here as part of
popularising honey production in
the village has prompted them to
launch a fresh honey campaign to
popularise honey-based soft drinks
in households and at wedding
parties.
Students’initiative
The students, who popularised honey
production by launching honey
cultivation units at the school, are
all set to launch another
programme included in their
project report, schoolteacher C.
Sathyanarayanan says. He says the
students are busy trying to
popularise the drink ‘ honey cola.’

Natural ingredients

The ingredients of the drink include
cardamom, honey, lemon and
ginger juices.
